Eagles - Year 6
Welcome back! Although SATs are finally over, the children in Year 6 have been working extremely hard in the run-up to big Writing Moderation on the 4th June. We have been writing lots of different pieces with a real focus on 'purpose, style and genre.' It is definitely going to be another full-on term for Eagles- there really is a lot going on. As well as many sports events, there are is a lot going on in terms of ‘secondary school transfer’ not to mention a blockbuster summer production to deliver! Who said things are over after SATs!
Conspiracy!!!
As the children have worked so hard in the past few months, we thought they deserved a really fun topic for the last few weeks. We seem to live in a suspicious and sceptical world, full of conspiracy theories. This term, Eagles class will be doing some of their own investigation work and look into some of these cases. Is there any truth behind them or are they all just a lot of nonsense? Everything from UFOs to Race to the Moon Landing will be explored. We will use a range of resources and finally form opinions. We will finish by writing a ‘balanced argument’ to give both sides of the stories.
