Meet Mrs Fletcher

Where were you born?

Chipping Norton - Oxon

How long have you been a teacher?

I’ve been teaching for about 20 years. 14 years in a primary school in Witney, 2 years in an international school in Germany and about 4 years in Drayton.

Favourite book

I don’t have a lot of time to read, however if I do then I like to read non-fiction rather than fiction!

I love to read about places I’m going to. But right now I’m just browsing through ‘The Oxford Companion to Wine!’

Favourite film

This is an easy one! My favourite movie has got to be the first Mama Mia! I love the scenery, the music, the summer vibe and the humour 😃

If you ask some of our Puffins - they may have caught me humming some of the catchy tunes when I thought no one could hear me!!!

Favourite food?

Lasagne. When I was younger, my mum asked me what I wanted for my birthday meal - it was always lasagne!! Yum!!

What are your hobbies?

I love the outside, so enjoy walking, jogging and cycling. I also enjoy a bit of boogie boarding and body surfing in the summer. I love skiing and mountain walking when I can!

What do you like most about your job?

I absolutely LOVE getting children to learn. It gives me goose bumps to hear an ‘ ahhhhh’ or an ‘I see!’ It’s the best thing to see progression, confidence and happiness as a result of your teaching!

What do you like most about working at Drayton?

Well, there are two main parts to this question.

  1. We are all a fantastic team and I think this shines through in the way we are in the classroom. It is a joy to come in and work with people who share approaches and values and the joy of teaching.

  2. Secondly, the children in Drayton are wonderful. They are full of enthusiasm, smiles and fun. I love it when they make creations at home for you and it’s lovely to see them out and about in the village crazily waving and calling your name.
