Swimming Gala Report
On Friday 20th January, the swim team left Drayton to compete in a swimming gala, at Radley College Sports Centre. The team were very excited to be representing Drayton School.
When the team arrived it was to come face to face, yet again, with their biggest rivals – Thomas Read, who had beaten the girls cricket team by 4 runs. There were various different schools from across Abingdon.
The first race was the Freestyle relay race. Both the girls and the boys came first. Second, was the individual races. In the individual races, Drayton had two 1st places, two 2nd places, one 3rd place, one 6th place and one 4th place. After that, came the Medley relay race, where the boys came 1st and the girls came second.
Overall, Drayton School came first for the boys and third for the girls. In addition to the great scores, Drayton gave the most encouragement to the swimmers racing. However most importantly – WE HAD FUN !
