Meet Mrs Hodder

Mrs Hodder

Where were you born?
I was born in Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk

How long have you been a teacher?
Just over a decade now – I came into teaching after a few different jobs, which included working for a stock photography agency and then as an Occupational Therapist Technician

Favourite book?  My all-time favourite book is Captain Correlli’s Mandolin by Louis de Bernières. In fact, I chose one of my wedding readings from this book as I loved it so much. As far as children’s literature is concerned my top pick is The Magic Faraway Tree by Enid Blyton – I have shared this story with my own children and when I read it to them I am instantly taken back to my childhood.

Favourite film?
Shawshank Redemption is a classic for me and I have watched it many times so I’d say this has to be one of my favourites! I also love many children’s films, especially Disney ones! I have watched the Toy Story films more times than I can remember.

Favourite food?
Thai – I love spicy food and could eat a lot of it! My travels in Thailand introduced me to cashew nuts in a curry, and I always use them now.

What are your hobbies?
I like to run listening to audio books as it distracts me from the pain! I also love to travel and did a lot of this before my children. As a family we are planning a European summer tour in the next few years!

What do you like most about your job?
It has to be the opportunity to work with the children to help them blossom and fulfil their potential. They are very entertaining and never fail to make me smile with their funny stories and sometimes their scarily honest opinions.

What do you like most about working at Drayton?
I love working with such a fabulous team, true professionals but also great fun!
