Spring Term

Welcome back to another busy term. We have some exciting learning ahead this term and I am looking forward to sharing this with the children.

Our topic is Abingdon and the River Thames and for the next few weeks we will be learning history and geography through this topic. We have a trip to the Abingdon Museum booked next week where we will begin this learning journey. Please find the new topic map attached.

Another little shuffle with support staff this term means that the children will be supported in the afternoons by Mrs Sallum who will be working with small groups of children.

PE has changed again this term. Both PE slots will now be taught by Mrs Leon on Tues and Wed afternoons. Please ensure that your child has appropriate PE kit on these days.

Forest school will be taking place on Monday afternoons with Mrs Laws and Miss Kogel.

Please remember to listen to your child read their RWI book and share with them their choice of book from the school library. These reading sessions should be uploaded onto our Boomreader app. Please remember to return reading and library books each Monday so that they can be changed.

As ever, please don't hesitate to come and see me if you have any questions or concerns.

Kind regards,

Mrs Alecia Leon

Abingdon Museum Visit

Welcome back to term 3! The children have had a great return and have settled back into routines very quickly. Please find the new curriculum map on the website to find out what we will be learning this term. We have some great learning ahead!

There has been a little shuffle with the support staff for this term. Miss Kogel will be supporting the class every morning, Mrs Muir will be working with small groups on a Monday afternoon and Mrs Sallum will be working with small groups on a Friday afternoon.

Our timetable has changed slightly for this term as PE with Mr Pear will now be on a Tuesday morning and the children will not be taking part in forest school. Mrs Leon’s PE slot will be on a Wednesday afternoon. Children will need to bring an indoor PE kit on both days.

We will be looking at a range of books during our whole class reading time. We will be looking at The Dark by Lemony Snicket, the poem Wynken, Blynken and Nod by Eugene Field, Christopher Columbus by David Adler and finally The Hodgeheg by Dick King Smith.

Please don't hesitate to come and speak to me about any issues or questions.
